I'm a little jealous...

Since Nicholas was born Mom and Dad haven't been spending as much time with me. They do take me for walks (mostly every night), and I get to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, which I usually don't get to do so its been pretty great, but now they don't spend all their time with me (like it used to be).

So, I've come up with some new ways to get their attention...

I climb up on the office chair, and then Dad has to come and take me off of it. The chair is on wheels and swivels, so it moves every time I try to jump off of it, so it's pretty scary to jump off myself.

Hopefully when Nicholas is older he can play with me, instead of just crying all the time.

8 weeks old and counting...

Well Nick is eight-weeks old now, boy the time has flown by... Nicholas has been sleeping through the nights now for about a week (hopefully that doesn't jinx it - and hopefully it continues). But when he wakes up in the morning he is really hungry and usually sucking his thumb.

Today has been eventful, projectile vomiting, lots of poop, lots of crying and hardly any sleeping... I can't wait until dad gets home to help out, and maybe change a few of the diapers.

But there was about five minutes where I was able to get him to smile and I was fortunate enough to get it on camera.

Hopefully there are more smiles tomorrow...

Some more photos...

My favourite time of the day... bath time :)

This is me wearing the outfit my cousin (Shane) gave me for Christmas.

This is the spider-man outfit my grandma gave me for Christmas. I can't wear it any more because it is too small. As you can see I really like the outfit.

Doctor's Appointment...

Today was Nicholas's one month check-up. He weighed 11 lbs 12 oz, which is in the 95 percentile for his age. His height was 60 cm (which is about 24 inches), which is in the 97 percentile. And his head circumference was 40 cm (about 16 inches), which is in the 75 percentile. Needless to say, Nicholas is a big boy :)

The doctor said that I might not be able to produce enough milk to keep him satisfied, so I might have to supplement with some formula. We will see how things go, right now everything seems to be okay.

His next doctor's appointment he will be getting his immune shots, I am not looking forward to that at all.

First Week with Mom...

My first week home with just mom was good. Pretty uneventful but good. Here's what we did in a nutshell...

Monday:
-uneventful only ate, slept and pooped

Tuesday:
-tried out my new baby einstein activity gym that I got from Santa (I really enjoyed looking at all the different things especially myself in the mirror, the rabbit on the mat and the star that has glowing lights - I am really glad that Santa gave me this for Christmas)

Wednesday:
-peed through two outfits and almost got mom in the process
-helped mom make dinner, well I got to be carried around by mom while she did the cooking

Thursday:
-peed through another outfit
-tired out my new swing and really loved it
-got to wear the racing car outfit my grandma gave me
-worked out with mom (we danced; did some ab workouts; mom even helped me workout, just my legs and arms; she also gave me a massage, it was really fun)

Friday:
-pretty uneventful just ate, slept and pooped, oh and I also got to hang out in my swing (do I ever love that swing); I want to save my energy for the weekend, I am sure that I am going to do some fun stuff with my dad and mom (maybe we will get to go for another hike with Cooper)

Here are some photos that mom took of me this week.

This is me in the sweater that my great-grandmother game me. As you can see I really like the sweater, that's why I am smiling.

This is a close-up of me trying to smile, some times it takes a long time to get me to smile.

This is a photo of me smiling because my mom is tickling my chin. She does that a lot and it really makes me laugh.

This is me sleeping on my mom's legs. I really like sleeping with her, in fact that is where I sleep most of the time. If she tries to put me in the crib, then I usually wake up until she puts me back on her chest or her legs.

So as you can see we did a lot this week, it was really great. But, I did really miss my dad. But when he got home from work I made sure to spend lots of time with him. I also made sure that when it was bed-time I only feel asleep on him, that way we got to spend lots of time together and I got the best sleep (I love sleeping on my dad).

New sleeping spot...

Yesterday I found a new place to sleep... sleeping in the swing that Nonna and the rest of my dad's family gave me. The rhythmic motion of moving back and forth is the best!!! It is almost as good as sleeping on dad, but that is still my favourite and I never will give that up.

As you can see from the photo I enjoyed sleeping in the swing so much that I fell asleep with my mouth wide open.
